,Experts in the care economy are urging the government to fast-track the enactment of the Kenya National Care Policy, to provide a clear framework to support caregivers, promote gender equality, and drive investment in care infrastructure across the country. Speaking during a precursor event to the International Day of Care and Support, marked annually on 29th October, they said the policy is crucial in recognizing, valuing, and remunerating unpaid care and domestic work, roles largely performed by women.
