Over 1.2 million Kenyans have registered under the Social Health Authority ahead of the full transition from NHIF to SHA beginning 1st October 2024. Health Cabinet Secretary Deborah Mulongo Barasa has called for collaborative efforts to ensure timely registration and a smooth transition into a system she says will ensure access to affordable quality health services for all. Medical Services PS Harry Kimtai stated that the Ministry has obtained a stay order against a judgment declaring the health laws unconstitutional and affirming that the roll out will proceed as planned.
