Officers from the public health department in Mombasa have began dispensing a chemical component to neutralize the toxicity left by a gas that leaked on Thursday in Makande, causing breathing complications. This comes a day after 8 KCSE candidates fainted while preparing for the national examination after inhaling the gas hence creating panic and fear within the area. Investigations are still underway, with samples of the discharged substance collected for analysis at the government chemist. Kevin Mutai from Mombasa also reports that a multi agency team has also conducted a crackdown in some of the factories operating in the area with reports that some of them have been closed pending investigations.
