Stage 3 and 4 cancer patients now have a better chance of receiving effective treatment, thanks to the introduction of precision medicine, which tailors medication based on a patient's DNA. A task force dedicated to leading the regulation and policy development of precision medicine in the country was announced at the 15th KEMRI Annual Scientific and Health conference-KASH. According to statistics, 70% of Kenyans are diagnosed too late with stage 3 or 4 cancers. Marie Yambo reports.
