Investigations into the Shakahola deaths yet to conclude two years later

The government will allocate a budget towards the DNA testing and funeral of bodies recovered from Shakahola forest in Kilifi County. Interior and Government coordination Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, while defending the government against allegations of dragging its feet in releasing the findings of its probe, said the allocation of the budget will form the final stages of the conclusion of the probe that has been ongoing since March 2023.
