Jospeh Irungu, alias Jowie, is found guilty of murdering Monica Kimani on the 19th of September 2018. While delivering her judgment, Justice Grace Nzioka said the prosecution had proved beyond reasonable doubt that ‘Jowie’ committed the murder. Justice Nzioka however acquitted former television reporter Jacque Maribe saying she was not placed at the scene of murder and the charges against her were wrong. Justice Nzioka censured Maribe for giving false information to the police.
