Juja Member of Parliament George Koimburi has been charged with six counts of forging academic certificates. Appearing before Kiambu Law Court Senior Principal Magistrate Mwanamkuu Mwakwambirwa, the Legislator pleaded not guilty to the six offences levelled against him. However, the court was treated to a drama after his defense counsel objected to the seventh count, contempt of court, as drafted by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution. The Court was informed that contempt of court is an abuse of the court process since it is not known in law. The trial Magistrate has released Koimburi on a free bond awaiting a ruling on whether he will plead to the last charge Thursday.
