Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa has refuted claims of negligence and medics’ absenteeism at the Kakamega General Hospital raised by Senator Boni Khalwale, stating that, the doctors are diligently performing their duties. The governor was addressing an incident in which two women are reported to have died during childbirth at the Kakamega General Hospital. The Governor also took issue with Senator Khalwale for claiming that, the county received 18.5 billion for the 2024/25 financial year.
