The Kenya Dental Association has expressed concerns over the influx of unqualified medical and dental practitioners in the country. The Dentists Association is accusing the Kenya Medical and Dental Practitioners Council of publishing a Scope of practice for Community Oral Health Officers that encourages practicing dentistry without relevant training, terming it a move that goes against the fundamental promise made by the Health Act of 2017 endangering the oral health of patients and reducing of quality oral healthcare.
