The Kenya national police service has now established a specialized missing persons unit at the directorate of criminal investigations to expedite on the ongoing femicide investigations among other cases on missing persons across the country. This comes as the country has continued to witness significant cases related to abductions, killings and disappearances raising concerns among the Kenyans. The national police service has since recorded 29 people as still missing since the public protests against the Finance Bill of 2024.
