The government is working towards formulating policies to address the demographic shifts arising from the rapid population growth. In a speech read on his behalf by Principal Secretary Economic Planning James Muhati at the official opening of the Kenya Population and Development Conference in Nairobi, National Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi said the population issues are complex saying the government has so far adopted a multi-sectoral approach to address the population challenges. He further said the government has made significant progress in improving the population and development indicators.
