The Kenya Women Beach Handball team is assured of a medal at the Africa Beach Games after winning their second match in the round robin five teams competition in Hammamet, Tunisia. The ladies picked up from where they left it off on day one, beating Mali by two sets to nil. Kenya was off to a good start, hammering Mali 12-4 in the first set of ten minutes. The second set was a close one, Mali giving as much as they took from Kenya. In the end, captain fantastic Michelle Adhiambo scored the winning goal for Kenya’s 17-16 victory in the second set. Adhiambo was in fine form as she contributed 14 points for Kenya with Brenda Ariviza adding six. Kenya lost 2-0 to Uganda but will play Tunisia for the gold medal on Monday.
