Kenya’s Olympic 5000m champion Beatrice Chebet achieved double golden glory by winning the 10,000m at the Paris 2024 games on Friday. Four days after claiming gold in the 5000m final, Chebet, making her Olympic debut, emerged victorious in the women’s 10,000m at 30:43.25 at the Stade De France. This remarkable feat makes Chebet the first Kenyan woman to win Olympic gold in the 10,000m and only the third woman, after Tirunesh Dibaba and Sifan Hassan, to complete the 5000m and 10,000m double at the Olympic games.
