The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Sylvenus Abunge has urged the Busia County government to address issues of sugarcane theft in the region which they fear might affect a large percentage of the locals who depend on agriculture for their livelihood.His statement comes amid heated debate among the residents regarding rumours of the closure of major sugarcane mills in the county due to lack of sugarcane following an increase in theft cases.
