Kenya is currently at the post-elimination phase of leprosy having achieved a prevalence of less than 1 case per 10,000 persons in 1989. In 2019, Kenya recorded 163 leprosy patients, the highest number of which was recorded in Kilifi and Kwale counties. Recent findings indicate that Bomet, Bungoma, Kiambu, Kitui and Nyamira counties have recorded low prevalence with 1 case reported in each of the counties
