The family of Margaret Nduta, a 37-year-old Kenyan woman sentenced to death in Vietnam for drug trafficking, has distanced itself from reports indicating that Nduta had previously served sentences in Ghana and Saudi Arabia.
The family now says that the emerging claims are part of a plan to hinder Nduta's repatriation to Kenya. This comes as the Kenyan government confirms that Nduta is still alive and that the two governments are in talks to resolve the stalemate. __
