Hundreds of patients have been left stranded at Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital as medics and support staff at the facility continued with the strike for the second day. Desperate patients were forced to seek treatment at other hospitals. Those who had scheduled surgeries are now left in limbo, with their procedures postponed indefinitely. The standoff has now seen the hospital board chairperson Professor Olive Mugenda resign and the hospital's board disbanded with immediate effect.
