https://nation.africa/ A Kenyan who is cycling from Egypt to South Africa to raise fees has embarked on the Nairobi-Cape Town leg after being on the road for 24 days. Ian Mwangi, an old student at Starehe Boys School, aims to raise fees for 100 students at Starehe Boys School and Starehe Girls School. “I am riding 10,800 kilometers from Cairo in Egypt to Cape Town in South Africa to raise money for 50 boys and 50 girls in the Starehe schools in perpetuity. The idea is the money that we raise, that is Sh 100 million, is invested and then the students live off the interest forever. So far, we have done 3,500 kilometers and we are looking forward to the remaining part,” Mr Mwangi told the Nation at Sultan Hamud Township as he rode towards Mombasa.
