Migori County Government has launched a five-year strategic and health investment plan. It outlines pathways for collaboration and revenue generation in the health sector, which is currently grappling with numerous challenges.Migori County Secretary Oscra Olima, while presiding over the launch, emphasized that as donor organizations plan their exit, the document will be instrumental in securing alternative funding through local revenue sources for critical health sector needs. He noted that despite health being devolved, only 15% of the allocated funds from the National Treasury reach the counties, creating a significant financial gap. Sentiments echoed by Migori health CECM Caleb Opondi.
