Residents of Ikolomani constituency in Kakamega county have come to the defense of a gold mining company Shanta over remarks by the county senator Bonny Khalwale that the company is displacing residents from their farms to create space for its activities. During a meeting that brought together gold miners from Ikolomani, the residents accused the senator of insincerity saying the area member of parliament Benard Shinali has agreed with the mining company that no one will be displaced as claimed by the senator.
