The polio vaccination drive by government ended Wednesday with 3.6 million of the 4.2 million children targeted for immunization receiving the vaccine. Public Health Principal Secretary Mary Muthoni, said this represented 86% of the targeted group even as she dismissed claims the vaccine was unsafe for children. Meanwhile the national vaccine safety advisory committee has faulted international health lobby groups for what they say is an attempt to derail the vaccination campaign.
