More Kenyan women are turning to breast reconstruction surgery after having the organs removed due to cancer. This is according to Dr John-Paul Ogalo, a surgeon at Kenyatta University Teaching Research and Referral Hospital. Ogalo says so far 50 patients have undergone the procedure at the facility. Speaking during the second symposium on breast reconstruction and aesthetics at the facility Ogalo divulged that the costs which range between 112,000 shillings and 168,000 shillings per patient are almost fully covered by the Social Health Authority.
