Residents of Murang’a County have raised concerns over the implementation of the new social health insurance (SHA) scheme, calling for urgent reforms within the ministry of health to streamline services. Key among their grievances is the need for both national and county governments to enhance the quality of healthcare services in hospitals and ensure a consistent supply of essential medicines. They also underscored the importance of regular medical checkups. The concerns were voiced during separate medical camps held in Mathioya and Kiharu constituencies, where residents decried delays and inefficiencies in accessing medical care. Many expressed frustration over being locked out of healthcare services due to operational challenges within the new sha system.
