Former Murang’a Governor Mwangi wa Iria, who is also the newly appointed Chairman of the Procurement Regulatory Board, has raised alarm over the emergence of what he terms as rogue politically-affiliated group in the Mt. Kenya region. Wairia says The group called ''Itungati'' named after the Mau Mau warriors who fought against British colonialists, has recently been holding grassroots meetings across the region spreading fear and intimidation. Wa Iria has expressed concern over the group’s activities, calling for an immediate investigation into its operations.
