One person died while 15 others were critically injured after a pickup carrying 24 church members overturned at Malongo Village in Suba South Constituency, Homa Bay County. The group was en route to Suba Sub-County Hospital in Sindo to collect a body for burial when the accident occurred. Eight other passengers sustained minor injuries and were treated at a nearby health facility. Preliminary investigations suggest that overloading and poor road conditions may have contributed to the accident. The community has been advised to prioritize safety and avoid using non-passenger vehicles for transport.
