Police in Kerugoya, Kirinyaga County, have imposed a ban on all town operations after 11 PM. The move follows a protest led by Kirinyaga Central Member of Parliament Gachoki Gitari and residents, who stormed the Kerugoya Police Station over claims of rising insecurity. The residents voiced concerns over security lapses further criticizing the police for not acting timely on reports. The County Police Commander Andrew Naibei however assured the residents of increased patrols. This comes following the alleged murder of a man days ago after he attempted to help an M-Pesa agent who was being attacked by armed men.
