President Ruto appoints team to review university funding model

President William Ruto has appointed a national committee to review the controversial new university funding model. The review follows uproar by parents and university student over concerns that could lock out children from vulnerable and poor families from accessing higher education. The means testing instrument used to categorise students into five funding bands was seen as ineffective as learners from poor families were placed in wrong bands.
