President William Ruto has embarked on a campaign drive to popularize his recent working partnership with ODM leader Raila Odinga, days after signing a memorandum of understanding. The president was in Kamukunji in Nairobi as he kickstarted his 5-day tour of the county, where he defended his deal with Raila as part of his efforts to foster national unity and cohesion. Ruto says it was in the spirit of equality before the law that he lifted extra vetting of Kenyans living in border counties to acquire national identification cards without difficulties, just like the rest of the country.
