The High Court has issued temporary orders halting replacement of Rigathi Gachagua as Deputy President until 24th October when the matter will be mentioned. Justice Chacha Mwita in his ruling cited that Gachagua's petition raised pertinent issues of law and is a matter of public interest. Five petitions were filed Friday morning challenging the entire process that led to his removal, with petitioners arguing that the impeachment was biased and his right to a fair trial was violated by Senate.
