Getachew Reda and Debretsion Gebremichael used to be allies. They both belong to the TPLF, the regional ruling party of Tigray, a war-scarred region of Ethiopia. A recent dispute at the head of the TPLF has led to a split between the two, with rival factions now vying for control.
