President William Ruto has drawn the United States into the Sudan controversy after he rolled-out the red carpet for the Mohammad Hamdan Dagalo popularly known as Hemedti led Rapid Support Forces who are pushing for form a parallel government. Ruto revealed on social media that he discussed offering Kenya as a platform for parties in the Sudan conflict during a call with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, a detail not mentioned in the U.S. readout. This comes just a month after the U.S. accused Hemedti’s forces of committing genocide in Sudan.
