The deployment of security apparatus along a 57km stretch between the Kenya and Uganda border has seen over 200 illegal rotes closed, this is according to the Ministry of Interior and National Administration. A multi-agency team comprising the General Service Unit, Kenya Defence Forces and General Duty Police that conducts routine surveillance along the border entry points established the illegal routes were used to smuggle forged documents and drugs into the country.
