The senate, the national assembly, Professor Kithure Kindiki and other respondents in the impeachment case of impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua have asked the High Court to prioritize hearing the application seeking to set aside the Kerugoya Court conservatory orders. The orders issued in Kirinyaga stopped the swearing-in of Interior Cabinet Secretary Professor Kithure Kindiki as the next Deputy President. However Gachagua and petitioners through their counsels argued the orders were to remain in office until the case is heard and determined. The three-judge bench has adjourned the hearing to 2.30PM after giving directions to how to proceed with the issues. It is also expected to rule on whether to recuse itself from the impeachment case or not.
