Illegal products that continue to be smuggled into the country through the Kenya- Somalia border pose a big challenge to locally manufactured goods. This is according to the Kennedy Nyaiyo and the State Department for Agriculture. During as stakeholder engagement in Garissa County, Kennedy Nyaiyo from the Border Management Secretariat said they were assessing the extent of porosity in the borderline counties in Northeastern region. Security officers from borderline sub-counties in Garissa County identified Amuma, Wellmarer, Hamey, Liboi, Sariraha, Sinai as notorious cut lines used to smuggle goods.
