Health Cabinet Secretary, Dr. Deborah Barasa now says at least a quarter of the outstanding bills owed to health service providers by the defunct National Health Insurance Fund has been cleared. Speaking in West Pokot, Dr. Barasa said another 2.5 billion shillings will be disbursed to the health service providers by end of the coming week. NHIF owes health service providers at least 19 billion shillings, a pending bill that is threatening the transition to Social Health Authority.
