Thousands of motorsport enthusiasts from across East Africa have flocked to Kenya for the highly anticipated 2025 World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally, which officially kicked off yesterday.
An estimated 30,000 fans from Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and other East African Community (EAC) nations are expected to converge in Naivasha and its surrounding areas. Their arrival is significantly boosting tourism and driving growth in the hospitality sector across the region.
The increasing number of visitors from the EAC highlights the positive impact of regional integration, which has simplified cross-border travel. Many rally fans have expressed enthusiasm about exploring more of Kenya’s renowned attractions, including its diverse wildlife and adventure tourism, once the rally concludes. __
