Governors have withdrawn their 14 day ultimatum to shut down services in Counties. The decision to withdraw the ultimatum issued two weeks ago follows a deal between the National and County governments that will see counties receive 38.4 billion shillings. This was revealed by the council of governors vice Chair Mutahi Kahiga in Nairobi during the unveiling of the 2025 devolution conference. Kahiga also faulted the National Government for what he termed as persistent interference of county affairs.
