    Two former employees of the county of West Pokot have been arrested over the embezzlement of 296 million shillings. The two Mary Ngoriakes who is the former chief officer of education and Matthew Arusio former county director of bursary were arrested by the ethics and anti-corruption commission over theft of the public funds that is said to have occurred during the period of between 2017/2018 and 2021/2022.Two other suspects have since gone into hiding.
