Former Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu has been sentenced to 12 years in prison with an option to pay a fine of 53.5 million shillings. This follows a ruling by the chief magistrate of the Milimani anti-corruption court, Thomas Nzioka. The sentencing was conducted a day after Waititu and his wife were found guilty of misappropriation of funds and abuse of office in a 588 million shilling corruption case, his wife was sentenced to one year in prison or a fine of Ksh 500,000
