A female security officer, Berthed Awuor, who works with a private security firm, is nursing head injuries after she was allegedly assaulted and locked up by her supervisor following a workplace dispute. Berthed claims her supervisor hit her with a club on the head even as she pleaded for mercy. Dr. Isaac Andabwa, the National General Secretary of the Kenya National Private Security Workers Union (KNPSWU), condemned the brutal attack, describing the incident as a clear case of employer exploitation. Andabwa says the union will push for justice and adoption of the reforms in private security which he says will prevent such incidents in future.
