Stakeholders in the women’s economic sector are calling for urgent interventions to support women entrepreneurs. Speaking at the annual Women’s Economic Forum Kenya, Community Advocacy and Awareness Trust Chairperson Daisy Amdany emphasized that despite women owning 43.1% of MSMEs, they continue to face major challenges. These include limited access to finance, financial literacy gaps, and the burden of unpaid care work—all of which hinder their economic growth. Experts at the forum stressed the need for expanded financial access, stronger legal frameworks, gender-responsive infrastructure, and improved entrepreneurial education to help women realize their full economic potential.
