A 25-year-old Sheila Cheptoo, a poultry farmer from Masare village in Bomet County, is the new millionaire in town. Shaila won one million shillings from the ongoing shangwe@25 promotion by Safaricom. Sheila said she was purchasing her usual 1.2gb internet bundle for 55 shillings and airtime worth 23 shillings before being declared the winner. Following the win, Sheila who is rearing 132 chickens, plans to expand her poultry farming to make it fully commercial.
