Joshua Mutui Muimi, widely known as Brigadier Muimi, already facing charges in a high-profile fake Kenya Defence Forces recruitment scam, is now facing fresh allegations of defrauding a Nairobi resident, Brenda Otieno, of 610,000 shillings. The alleged fraud reportedly took place on October 31st, 2025, in Kilimani. Chief Magistrate Dolphina Alego, who presided over Wednesday’s hearing, granted Muimi a 500,000 shillings bond or Ksh 100,000 cash bail. The pre-trial hearing is scheduled for January 12th, 2026.
