The war between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) against the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) in Sudan has turned Khartoum city from an economic hub to a ghost city of abandoned buildings as citizens flee to safer grounds. Close to five million people have been displaced by the violence, resulting in a humanitarian crisis in the neighbouring states of the Red Sea of Port Sudan and Al Jazira. The Sudanese Government, however, is making an effort to facilitate the return of the displaced people and ensure that the returnees live in a safe and secure environment.
