High Court Judge in Migori, Judge Anne Adwera, has urged the government to allocate more funds to the Judiciary to help ease the growing backlog of cases and expand access to justice in the region. Speaking to the press after a public participation forum covering the South Nyanza region at the Posta Grounds in Migori Town, Judge Adwera said the current staffing levels are too low to serve a rapidly growing population effectively. Justice Adwera noted that Migori County, a vast region, is currently served by only one High Court judge, one Environment and Land Court judge, and eight magistrates, a situation she described as a drop in the ocean.
