The six Iranian nationals linked to the 8.2 billion-shilling methamphetamine drug haul intercepted in Mombasa County will know on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, whether the Shanzu Law Court will allow their detention. Detectives and the Director of Public Prosecution on Monday sought 14 days to complete investigations citing language barrier as a hindrance to interrogation. The prosecution also requested more time to verify credentials of the court interpreter. The six were arrested last Friday following a joint multi-agency operation that led to the seizure of 769 packages of crystalline substances suspected to be methamphetamine, weighing 1 ton.
