Of the eleven, eight were Hungarians and two were German passengers, along with one Kenyan crew member. In a statement, Mombasa Air Safari said that one of its aircraft, registration number 5Y-CCA, was operating a scheduled flight from Diani Airport to Kichwa Tembo in the Maasai Mara when it crashed. The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority has also confirmed the incident, saying the aircraft crashed at 0530 hours, with investigations still ongoing to establish the cause of the accident.
