The Government has declared Friday, the 17th of October, 2025, a public holiday in honor of the late former Prime Minister, Right Honourable Raila Amolo Odinga, who passed away on Wednesday while receiving treatment in India. The declaration was made through a Special Gazette Notice dated 16th October 2025, issued by Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen.
