Initial plans to conduct a public viewing for the late Raila Odinga’s remains in parliament were abandoned ,after crowds of mourners who were gathering in parliament where the body of Raila Odinga was scheduled to lie in state turned chaotic, necessitating a move of the exercise to Kasarani stadium. Mourners who had turned up to view Raila Odinga’s body breached the barricades in parliament. Tensions escalated as a section of the mourners attempted to force their way into parliament forcing parliamentarians to intervene urging mourners to keep calm and maintain decorum.
