Government faulted for not resolving the ongoing lecturers' strike

Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi has faulted the government for what he terms as playing deaf to the lecturers' grievances. Speaking at a funeral in Katangi, Yatta constituency, the deputy Governor said the government was intentionally crippling university education by ignoring the lecturers' plight. He said the 7.9 billion shillings that the lecturers are demanding should be released as was agreed. The Deputy Governor expressed fears of the education sector being curtailed by the continued inaction of the government over the matter.
